A fitting memorial service for the Bollywood legend and evergreen star Dev Anand, who passed away in London last week, will be held on December 16th. Dev Anand’s son Suneil has said that the memorial service will be held in the Mehboob studios in Mumbai on the 16th of December.
“After the funeral here on Saturday, I will be flying to Mumbai with his ashes and there a fitting memorial service will be held for his at the Mehboob studio,” Suneil told. This service will be held between 5pm and 7pm IST. “A memorial Service has been organized to pay tribute and pray for the peace and sadgati of the departed soul” Suneil added.
The service is expected to be attended by almost entire Bollywood including the leading stars.
Dev Anand died on 3rd December at the age of 88 following a heart attack inLondon. He has been a dedicated actor and has given 65 years of his life to acting. He has acted in more than 110 films.
He was cremated at the Putney Vale electric crematorium inLondon last Saturday.
Dev Anand’s son Suneil thanked the “people ofIndiaand the world over for their outpouring sympathy towards my father and the family”. “Passing of such an amazing man was really shocking. He was not only a legend; he was an incredible family man. He did so much for so many people,” Suniel underlined.
When asked about Dev Anand’s legacy, Suneil said that he would strive to keep the memory of Dev Anand alive. “I will continue to revive his films. His legacy will continue.” He said that he would consider completing Dev Anand’s last project ‘song of Life – a musical love story’. Dev Anand was planning to shoot Songs of Life in the UK, USA, Europe and India. “I will consider completing it. It is a beautiful script.” Suneil said.
