The latest to join the Bollywood bandwagon is none other than Miss Sri Lanka, Gamya Wijayadasa, who makes her debut in Bollywood with the flick ‘Alaap’.
Gamya was elected Miss Sri Lanka in 2009. She is gorgeous and classy. She is launching herself in Hindi film industry with the film directed by Manish Manikpuri. But her Bollywood debut is not for acting or main lead rather she has been fetched to do an item song ‘Chadhti Jawani’ in the movie. Agnee has scored the music for this item song that has turned already hugely popular. She lately performed on this item number in Chattisgarh where people loved the song and her gig as well. Abhishek Mishra. Both producers make the ventures under their banner Sri Shankaracharya Arts.
Gamya is a well educated girl. She has earned the MBA degree from the University of Melbourne. She is of the view that she arrived in Raipur to film this item song even without hearing it previously.
Talking about the song, she says that this is a situational song on the situation of an engagement party of the main lead of the film. Kanika Joshi and Bonnie Chakraborty have sung the number with gusto. Gamya is a Sri Lankan thus she hardly knows Hindi so she cannot understand the lyrics of the song. The movie stars Rituparna Sengupta, Raghuvir Yadav, Amit Purohit, Pitobash, Murli Sharma and others. The film will be out in theaters soon.
