Prince-Phenomenon in Indian Film Industry

The moment anyone hears the word ‘Prince’ they will be remembered by tollywood star Mahesh Babu. Mahesh Babu who is known as ‘Prince’ to his fans debuted in films with ‘Rakumarudu’ meaning ‘Prince’. From then on he became a phenomenon in film industry. He went on to marry bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar and during his twelve years twinkling career he had some stunning hits. A proven child artist from the beginning he graduated with ease as an actor. He rewrote tollywood records with ‘Pokiri’ under Puri Jagannath’s direction. The film was a sensational hit even in kollywood and revived Salman Khan’s sagging bollywood career as ‘Wanted’. Though he is touted as a snail in tollywood for taking years to complete films, he last year erased that name by delivering back to back hits with in three months. While his ‘Dookudu’ made entire world to sit up and take note of growing regional film industry which they never did so till now concentrating only on bollywood, his ‘Business Man’ released recently that his success was not a flash in the pan.

‘Dookugu’ grossed more than 100crs and ‘Business Man’ was released in record number of theatres across the world. When everyone expected him to make a grand bollywood entry with even bollywood heroes bracing themselves for the assault from this ‘Business Man’, he made it clear that he will concentrate only on tollywood industry bringing a sign of relief on other heroes. It was really shocking when all his contemporaries from south like Rana,Surya,Vikram,Ram Charan all making their bollywood debut. Already Prince shone in bollywood with his ‘Atidhi’ released as ‘International Khiladi’ receiving great reviews. Even Bollywood is waiting eagerly to see Prince making his debut as he already became Times Most Desirable Men for 2011 and is the only South Indian to feature in the list. Many corporates are already after Prince Charming to endorse their brands.
