Sajid Khan claims Himmatwala to cross 100 crore mark

Mumbai: Sajid Khan is directing the remake of the 1983 hit film ‘Himmatwala’ starring Jateendra and Sri Devi in main leads. The remake stars Ajay Devgan in main lead whereas the leading babe has not been finalized yet. The search is going on and we will have to wait for the name to be announced. The film is being produced by Vashu Bhangnani and Disney UTV’s Siddharth Roy Kapur. The first song recording of the film album has taken place recently and the song was recorded in the giant retro style with live 100 musician orchestra.

The most interesting thing about the song recording was that rather than going for the usual digital route to record the song, the makers of the movie decided to go back to the old golden days for the recording of the song live with a complete old school orchestra. At the recording, the leading hero Ajay Devgan, Sajid Khan (director), Siddharth Roy Kapur (producer), Vashu Bhagnani (producer), Sajid-Wajid (musicians), Sameer (lyricist) and Mika (singer) were present.

They all got impressed by the live recording of the track. The cake was also cut at the occasion. The makers and the director made the announcement that the heroine of the film will be announced by next month in July.

The interesting thing is that even not a single shot for the film has so far been taken but Sajid Khan is pretty confident of the big success of the film. He claimed that Himmatwala will cross Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office in first week of its release.

Sajid Khan has previsouly made three movies – Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Hosuefull 2. He says he can never ever deliver any flop movie. Well, we now have to wait and see if his claim sees the daylight or not.
