Shankar not to direct remakes any more

South India’s most famous director Shankar who is known to direct films touching contemporary issues prevailing in the society sending stong message to the public recently for the first time directed a remake of bollywood block buster ‘3-Idiots’ as bilingual casting Ilayadalapati Vijay,Ileana titled ‘Nanban’. He tasted mixed results as the film was a instant hit in tamil banking on Vijay’s huge mass fan following which is second only to Super Star Rajanikanth in Tamil Nadu but proved to be a disaster in telugu as he doesn’t enjoy the craze of his contemporaries like Surya,Vikram in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to media he said he will never again direct a remake even if he think of making the film he will ask some one else to direct it.

He felt it was a challenge to remake ‘3-Idiots’as ‘Nanban’ in tamil with it nativity without disturbing the storyline and hoped he succeeded in it. Responding to a question about the film not recreating the magic of ‘3-Idiots’ he said he didnot translate the film in totality and included more emotions to cater to kollywood viewers. When asked about films on his own banner he said he made huge losses while producing two to three films and would like to come out of them before thinking about his next venture. Shankar still promised to produce a film if he gets a good script. When asked about his bollywood debut as director, the ace director said it should have materialised long time back with King Khan Sharukh Khan in the lead but now left that issue in the hands of destiny.

Shankar said he did not commit any future ventures and will be making stunning announcement in March.
Indian Film Industry look forward to this director for some stunning hits in the lines of ‘Gentleman’,’Indian’,’Robot’,’Nayak’,’Sivaji’ etc.
