Chennai: Sri Devi, the famed yesteryear’s actress of Bollywood and south films, is now all geared up to make her comeback in movies and her return to cinema is going to happen with a regional movie. It has been learnt that the film in which Sri Devi is going to make her appearance as a leading lady is titled ‘English Vinglish’. The film will be directed by Gauri Shinde who is the better half of the famed director R. Balki.
In this movie, a French popular actor Mehdi Nebbou along with Priya Anand and Adil Hussain will be doing the leading roles along Sri Devi. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan too is all set to make his special appearance in the film.
The film’s story is set in New York and Sri Devi’s character is of a South Indian who is there to learn English to impress her family members. The movie is a comic caper that would be a real rib tickling experience for the viewers to enjoy with. It has also been reported that the film’s makers would dub the movie and it will then be released in two languages simultaneously – Tamil and Telugu.
Besides, our sources tell us that Trisha had refused a movie that was later landed into the kitty of Anjali. Well, the whole saga is that for the Telugu movie ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’, Trisha was approached to play the character of the sister in law of Mahesh Babu, who plays the main hero in this movie. But Trisha refused doing the role of sister in law. No doubt in saying that it was the right move of Trisha since when you play heroine, you would not want to do the roles like sister in law or sister. But Anjali said yes to the offer. Why did she say ‘yes’ to the role? She tells that she said yes because the role is hefty and has good margin to showcase the skills. Srikanth Addala directs this flick.
