Director Rohit Shetty, the fame director of Golmaal trilogy, is all set for another comic flick. This time he is going to test the comic timing of King Khan, Shahrukh Khan. The next venture of Rohit is a film named Chennai Express. Rohit says, “It’s too early to talk about that film, since we are still in the planning stage. The film will have lots of comedy, some action and some romance. It’ll be a family entertainer.” The director is currently working on the film Bol Bachchan starring Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan. Bol falls under the category of comic raper and is all set to hit the screens this July. When asked about the Chennai Express project, the director says, “It will take another seven months to start work on Chennai Express.” The female lead of the film has not been decided yet.
Amidst all these, Shetty has already started working on the script of Golmaal 4. He adds, “It became the first trilogy in India. No matter what films I’m making, the Golmaal series will continue. The next one will take another year and a half to start work on.” The cast of the film has been the same since the Golmaal had started. When questioned on whether Golmaal 4 too will have the same cast, the proud director replies, “I would love to. Every character has created an individual identity. People will not be able to connect to the film if I change them.”
The last venture of the director, Singham(2011), starring Ajay Devgan was a success at the box office. The film was a remake of a south Indian action film. Shetty sure wants to work in that genre of movie like Singham but he is no mood to make another remake.
Director Shetty says, “I am planning a full-fledged action film after I finish the one with Shah Rukh, but it will not be a remake of a southern film.” Rohit Shetty’s movie, Singham, won the Best Director honour at the Max Stardust Awards which was held on 1oth February at Bhuvans’ College in Mumbai.
