Stars Put on Their Running Shoes for Mumbai Marathon

Mumbai: Mumbai Marathon is always a star studded affair but this year it is all geared to up to be better than all the preceding years. More than thirty Bollywood stars have already signed up for the Marathon. The most notable of them are the dhak-dhak girl Madhuri Dixit and the khallas-man, Anil Kapoor. Joining them would be others like Ranbir Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh, Gul Panag and many more.

This year the marathon veterans will be the brand ambassadors of the Mumbai Mrathon, dashing and sensational John Abraham and cute-dimple girl Gul Panag.

Running at the marathon have a virtual meaning for many who run for satisfaction and satiation of their personal goals and desires. People running for Mumbai Marathon run for causes and when any human being is up for a cause, fighting for it and believing in it, they are motivated to perform better. Bollywood does not sign up for the Mumbai Marathon to feel fit or exhibit their fitness. It is more to work for a cause they feel for. The Mumbai Marathon is a great charity platform and it collects a good deal of funds. It goes beyond being a simple sports event.

NGOs like Mizwan which is run by celebrated actress, Shabana Azmi get a lot of support from the Mumbai Marathon as many run to cheer her cause. The same goes for Salman Khan’s NGO, Being Human which gets support from his friends and family who run for the cause of his NGO.

This year the organizers are all set to reach the 15 crore mark. Already over 13 crores has been collected for the marathon. The money which comes from the run goes for the betterment of the poor and the underprivileged strata of the society and the causes which are put forth by the NGOs.

Besides Bollywood, esteemed Businessmen, Politicians, TV stars, journalists, columnists and many ordinary Mumbaikars have signed up to run for the Mumbai Marathon which is due to be held this Sunday. Over 38,000 people are going to participate in this event bringing alive the undying and unbeatable spirit of Mumbai.
