Vidya Balan Booked For ‘Indecent’ Pictures

It was just when Vidya Balan was climbing on cloud nine for the appreciations and collection of her latest film -“The Dirty Picture” a Hyderabad court put a stop button on her way.

On Wednesday a Hyderabad court filed an FIR against Vidya for allegedly posing for objectionable posters and promos of her latest film –The Dirty Picture. On a petition filed by advocate S. K. Azad, the local Nampally criminal court in Hyderabad ordered the Nallakunta police station to file an FIR case against this Bollywood actor. The judge asked the police to book the actor under relevant sections of the IPC and also under the indecent representation of the women prohibition act 1986.

Advocated Azad stated that the posters and hoardings of the film were spoiling the minds of the people causing harm to the society. This film went under the knife of controversies earlier also when the brother of the late heroine Silk Smitha (on whom the film is based) filed a petition against the filming but in vain.

The film “The Dirty Picture” is an unofficial biopic about the life lustrous sex siren of the 1980’s, the dancing diva and south Indian actress Silk Smitha. Silk was known for her skin showing and sexual representations in the films. Thus in this film the director and producer had mostly concentrated on the skin showing and sensuous part of Silk, which resulted in the bold and sexy avatar of Vidya Balan. The film shows a voluptuous Vidya with an oversized belly and over weight body. The film has a lot of cleavage showing, some over intimate scenes and a bucket full of sexuality. This is what Silk was all about, and to portray this kind of a character one needs to show all these stuffs. But sadly this kind of concepts and ideas are still not openly accepted by the common masses of India. This in turn results in controversies and similar incidents.
