Weather Woes for Lootera yet again

After the shooting schedule at Dalhousie went awry and led to the cancellation of a month – long schedule there, weather woes seem to haunt Vikramaditya Motwane and his team. This time around, bad weather conditions have yet disturbed shooting schedules of the film in Kolkata.

The crew is currently shooting at Khanyan, a place interior in Bengal and is baffled as erratic weather continues to disturb shooting schedules. Adding to it are crazed fans that leave no stone unturned leaving things in a big mess.

If it is not weather, then the crew has been battling accommodation issues and has not been able to find a suitable place near the shoot location. The stars and the crew have set their base in Kolkata city from where Khanyan is a good three to four hours away. This has also resulted in the lead stars Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha being deprived of sleep and all that they get is just three to four hours. The cast and crew leaves around 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM to return only by 9 leaving no room for proper rest.

The film is already running behind schedule and it would be a challenge for Vikas Bahl and his team to get the film on track if it has to have its scheduled October release. The producers have already lost around a set which cost Rs. 50 Lakhs to be built which now is lying under snow. The good news however is that the producers have insured the film at cost of around Rs. 21 crores.

This is not the first time that Bollywood is baffled with issues like this. A whole day of shooting was lost when rains played havoc while the shooting of Agneepath was on. Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Black shoots were disrupted for weeks when sets of these films caught fire.

So while Vikramaditya and his team battle weather woes, we just hope that all the hard work and tiring efforts the team is taking the results of that are evident at the box office too.
