Ajay Devgan debuted on celluloid in 1991 with Phool Aur Kaante, which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His first Filmfare Award for Best Male Actor was for Zakhm, directed by Mahesh Bhatt in 1999.

Ajay Devgan married actress Kajol in 1999 and they have a daughter, Nysa, who was born in 2003.

Career

After Phool Aur Kaante, Ajay Devgan co-starred with Karishma Kapoor in the 1992 film Jigar. 1993 saw him acting in Deepak Bahry’s directorial venture Ek Hi Raasta, an action film; and Deepak Pawar’s Platform, where he acted with Tisca Chopra. 1994 saw Ajay Devgan starring in Diljale, Suhaag and Vijaypath.
