Bipasha was born on the 7th of January, 1979 and in today’s date she’s proved to be an Indian actor who can charm you with her versatility … she has mainly appeared in Bollywood movies and has bagged some remarkable films. Bipasha is former model, and was the frontrunner in the Ford’s Godrej Cinthol Supermodel competition in the year 1996.
HER EARLY LIFE…
Bipasha was born in New Delhi on the 7th of January in the year 1979 into a Hindu-Bengali family. She’s the middle kid out of 3 daughters: Bidisha is Bipasha’s elder sister and her younger sister is named Vijayeta. Bipasha’s family afterwards shifted to Kolkata soon before she stepped into middle school.
During an interview, Bipasha stated that she initially had planned on studying medicine and that her dream was to be a doctor…. but then as fate would have it…this long legged lass entered into the modelling industry and went on the become an actor by accident. Bipasha had science as a streamied science till the twelfth standard when she was still attending school at Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, from where she went on to The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College, to study commerce. While in Kolkata, Bipasha did a few modeling shoots and some ramp shows as a part-time thing. It was not until Bipasha was 17 years old and still in Kolkata, that she met up with model Mehr Jessia who then suggested that Bipasha be a part of the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel competition. Bipasha was quick to take Mehr’s advice and participated in the same, only to win the contest.

After Bipasha won the Ford Godrej Cinthol competition, she flew to New York city on behalf of the Ford Company and it was there that she worked hard and was blessed with a successful career in modeling at a young age of 17!
Bipasha bagged her movie debut in the movie “ajnabee” by Abbas Mustan, where she shared the screen with actors like Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Bobby Deol. She played the role of a married lady who pursues to entice her hubby’s married buddy, and in due course Bipasha won the Best Female Debut (Filmfare Award) as recognition for her brilliant work.
In the year 2002, Bipasha was seen in a Telugu film Takkari Donga in addition to Vikram Bhatt’s suspenseful story Raaz. It turned out that Raaz landed up as a huge commercial hit and was the leading hit story for that year. Bipasha received her 1st ever best actress nomination (filmfare award) for her feat in the motion picture. In the year 2003, Bipasha appeared as the character Sonia Khanna apposite John Abraham for the movie “jism”. The movie brought in Bipasha the Best Villain nomination (Filmfare Award).
In addition to acting, Bipasha also featured in a video “Tu” which was for a Sonu Nigam album called Kismat. Later, Bipasha also featured in a Jay Sean music video by the name of Stolen.
In the year 2006, Bipasha enticed millions with her killer dance moves in an item number called “Beedi” for the movie Omkara. In the year 2008, Bipasha was seen in the film Race which was her 2nd partnership in the company of Abbas-Mustan. The film fared well at the box office and she shared the screen with actors like Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, and Katrina Kaif. It was said that this was bipasha’s best work so far and she did get the appreciation that she well deserved at that point. Good reviews followed for her work in the film Bachna Ae Haseeno where she worked opposite Ranbir Kapoor. That year, Bipasha also made a guest appearance for a song in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi where she was seen opposite shahrukh khan in the video Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte.
In the year 2005, Bipasha along with John Abraham, was seen in Bollywood Bodies which was a fitness video by Eros. In the year 2010, Bipasha launched her very own row of videos- Love Yourself along with Shemaroo beneath the banner BB. The 1st release was called the ‘Fit and Fabulous You”.
BIPS PERSONAL LIFE…
Bipasha and John Abraham (actor) were in a relationship from the year 2002 until 2011. For the period where these two brilliant actors were together as a couple, they were often addressed in Indian media as the SUPER-COUPLE. Before John, Bipasha had been dating Dino Morea (model and actor) for quite some time.
In the year 2006, Bipasha alleges that she was harassed in Edison (New Jersey) by some organizers for the India Day Parade. Bipasha was at first planned to lead this parade on the 13th of August in 2006. She ultimately did appear on stage, but a little late, and blamed the episode of harassment for the same. In the year 2005 and the year 2007, a UK magazine named Eastern Eye voted Bipasha as the “Sexiest Woman in Asia”.
