Over so many years in Bollywood we have been watching some of the remakes and scripts that have been inspired or copied from international movies. Hence, in the past few years there are very few films that have provided us with something fresh. This is because script writers are not provided the range that they want to write and directors and producers don’t have the guts to make something substantial and take the risk of movie not working at the box office. Shakal Pe Mat Ja directed by Shubh is something off the regular Bollywood masala movies because of the story that it brings to us. The movie stars Shubh, Pratik Katare, Saurabh Shukla, Raghuveer Yadav, Aamna Sharif, Zakir Hussain, Aditya Lakhia, Umang Jain and Mushtaq Khan.

The plot begins with four young boys, Ankit (Shubh), Dhruv (Pratik), Bulai (Harshal) and Rohan (Chitrak) being detained at the international airport  only because the airport security feels that they are suspected terrorists. Although, they explain that they were taking pictures inside the airport for making their documentary but airport security does not pay attention to their claims. ATS Chauhaan (Saurabh Shukla) is the ATS officer who makes mess of everything that the boys do or say and the movie just begins to get messier after that. On performance scale you will find that the actors have done well to keep you laughing throughout the movie. Shubh, Pratik and Chitrak are first timers on the big screen but they have given their best performances and they look very natural as well which makes the movie more interesting. They also share some really good on screen dialogues which brings freshness to the screenplay. Saurabh Shukla is first rated on the screen and he delivers the best performance of all characters. Raghuvir Yadav is great in his character role and therefore it makes up for all the things that are not right in the movie. Technically, the cinematography is good by Sahir Raza. However, the music by Salim Sulaiman and others don’t do much justice except the title track which is different and makes you feel the punch of the movie.

On the whole, Shakal Pe Mat Ja is really good movie that has something different to offer to the audience but somewhere down the line the screenplay goes wrong and you will find that scenes don’t go in sync with the plot which makes it difficult for the audience to comprehend the story. The music is not really good and therefore it only makes situation worse for the audience. In many cases, you will find that the director has not really used the creativity of the plot and have presented half-baked story that is not going to impress all the audiences.
