Maryam Zakaria does an item song in Telugu movie

Chennai: Maryam Zakaria, the hot and sexy lass who is being seen in the mujra song of Agent Vinod shaking her hips along with top notch Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, has now charmed and captured the entertainment industries and the masses of India with her enormous beauty, dancing expertise and sexy body structure. Apart from her role in Agent Vinod and her item song in Rowdy Rathore, she is seen in south movies as well.

In Telugu movie, ‘Naa Ishtam’, Maryam dolls up an item number with Rana Daggubati. She essays the leading character of a cop in the flick ‘Arjuna’ opposite Dr. Rajasekhar.

It was not planned initially to slip into Indian movies. Her parents left Iran for Sweden she was just a kid. Post her education, she joined in a police school and got trained as a border patrol police. She passed the exam and joined the border force. Maryam tells that she loves Hindi movie since her childhood, as she hailed seeing Bollywood films. She claims to be a big fan of Madhuri Dixit and had learnt her dancing steps from the dancing queen of India. Zakaria reveals that Madhuri is her inspiration.

She got herself trained under a lady who taught her Kuchipdi for two years in Sweden. Then she learnt Kathak there but her love was for Hindi movies dancing – Bollywood dance. She then quite classes and began her own Bollywood dance school back in Sweden and left the police job. Soon she began getting number of students and then she began performing dance on Bollywood tracks on stage. For Persian singer Shayesteh’s video album, Maryam choreographed and performed.

She liked making her career in Bollywood as it was her childhood dream, so she left Sweden and arrived in Mumbai in 2009. Having no connection in the city, she initially found hard to manage there. She lived in hotels mostly and shuttled between Sweden and India every month. Her agent started bringing her modeling assignments which worked for her. She did ads like Lays (with Saif), Set Wet, Coke, Hide & Seek and few others.

Since she had sunk into Bollywood now, nonetheless she wants to continue with Telugu films.
