Not many know that the elegant beauty Saundarya Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born in a traditional South Indian family. The green-blue eyed beauty started off with her modelling career at a very young age. Initially she amassed fame with commercials like that of the Garden Sari and Pepsi.
It was soon after this that Aishwarya was awarded the Miss India 1994 runner-up prize. The biggest moment in her life came soon after this when the hot favorite for the Miss World Title actually went ahead to win it.
The diva’s first break in Bollywood was soon after this. ‘The Duo’ in 1997 also got her a lot of critical acclaim and earned her the Screen best female debutant award. Movies like ‘Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya’, ‘Taal’, ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Devdas’ landed her with the fame she now enjoys.

Her career did suffer some issues in between but movies like ‘Dhoom 2′, ‘Guru’, ‘Jodha Akhbar’ established her strong foot hold in the Indian Film Industry.
