A hot and sizzling actress, Amisha Patel is always in the news for some or the other reason, be it her professional life, or her personal life. Born on 9th June 1975, Amisha was an economic analyst before shifting attention to theatre and acting. She appeared in several ad campaigns such as Bajaj, Fair & Lovely, Fem, Lux, etc.
Through her father’s friend, Rakesh Roshan, Amisha bagged the lead role of Sonia Saxena in the film ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’, opposite Hrithik Roshan. The film was a smash-hit success at the box office and she received many ‘Best Debut’ awards at various events.
Her next film was a Telugu drama called ‘Badri’, which was also a runaway hit. In 2001, Amisha played a Muslim girl in the film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. The film was a top grossing film, with a collection of Rs 973 million in India. Her performance earned her the Filmfare Special Performance Award and several Best Actress nominations.
After a few flops, she delivered a superb performance in Abbas-Mustan thriller film ‘Humraaz’. The film earned her both commercial success and critical appreciation.
Thereafter, Amisha was seen in films like ‘Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai’, ‘Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage’, ‘Kranti’, ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’, ‘Suno Sasurjee’, ‘Vaada’, ‘Elaan’, ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’, ‘Zameer’, ‘Mere Jeevan Saathi’, ‘Tathastu’, ‘Ankahee’, ‘Aap Ki Khatir’, ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, and ‘Chatur Singh Two Star’. All of these movies, except Bhool Bhulaiyaa, were unsuccessful at the box office.
Amisha’s personal life has also been very much in the news. She was dating film maker Vikram Bhatt since 2002. They broke up in 2008, after which she started dating businessman Kanav Puri, with whom she broke up in 2010.
