Ilena D’Cruz was born on 1st November 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Ilena is a model turned actress by profession. She started her modeling career in the year 2003 and did ramp walks for several designers and even appeared in several advertisements like Emami Talc, Electrolux and Fair and Lovely, through which she became popular and was offered several films later on.
Ilena D’Cruz started her career as an actress in Telugu film industry in the year 2006 and her debut film was ‘Devadasu’ for which she even won the award for Filmfare Best Female Debut (South). The few other successful movies to her name are ‘Pokiri’ this Ilena’s biggest commercial success so far and which released in the 2006, ‘Jalsa’ which released in the year 2008 and then ‘Kick’ which released in the year 2009. She was nominated in the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress for both of her later films but didn’t win it.. Ilena D’Cruz has even done a few Tamil films aswell but they never turned out to be successful and so she always regarded as a star in Telugu films.
Ilena D’Cruz’s most recent achievement is that she will make her Hindi film debut in the movie ‘Barfee’ which is slatted to release in 2012. This film is being directed by Anurag Basu and has Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Ilena will later be seen in Hindi films like ‘Khiladi 786’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2’.
