A hot and sexy model and actress, and now the proud mother of a baby girl, Lara Dutta Bhupathi is now the part of the ‘Bollywood’s Yummy Mummy’ bandwagon. She was born on 16th April 1978 in Ghaziabad, to an Indian father and an Anglo-Indian mother. She has two elder siblings.
Lara completed her education from St. Francis Xavier Girls’ High School and Frank Anthony Public School. She holds a degree in economics from the University of Mumbai.
Lara won the Indian Annual Gladrags modeling contest and represented India at the 1997 Miss Inter-Continental, which she won too. She was also crowned Femina Miss India Universe. Lara scored the highest marks in the swimsuit round of Miss Universe 2000. With her high scores of 9.99, she went on to become the Miss Universe that year. She was subsequently appointed as the UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in the year 2001.
Lara then forayed into Bollywood with her first film ‘Andaaz’. The film was a success and won her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Thereafter, she appeared in a number of films, of which some were well-received by the audiences. Her films like ‘Masti’, ‘No Entry’, ‘Bhagam Bhaag’, ‘Partner’, ‘Housefull’ and ‘Don 2: The King is Back’ fared well at the box office.
Lara was also seen in films like ‘Khakee’, ‘Bardaasht’, ‘Elaan’, ‘Kaal’, Ek Ajnabee’, ‘Zinda’, ‘Billu Barber’, ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’, ‘Blue’, ‘Chalo Dilli’ and several others, but these didn’t do well at the box office.
Lara Dutta married tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi on 16th February 2011 in Bandra. She gave birth to a baby girl on 20th January 2012.
