A Bengali beauty with a husky voice and immense acting talent- that is how we define Rani Mukerji. Rani was born on 21st March 1978 to a Bengali family, associated with the film industry.
Rani’s first appearance in films was a cameo in a Bengali film called ‘Biyer Phool’. Her first full-fledged debut in Bollywood was ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’, for which she received a Star Screen Special Jury Recognition Award.
Her 1998 film ‘Ghulam’ was average, but its song ‘Aati Kya Khandala’ became immensely popular. Her next blockbuster film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ went on to earn her the first Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. Rani then appeared in a series of unsuccessful films like Mehendi, Hello Brother, Hey Ram, Bichhoo, and so on.
Her success phase began when she received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ‘Saathiya’.
