Yet another Bengali girl marking her presence in the film industry is Reema Sen. Born on 29th October, 1981 this actress appears mostly in films from the south. She was born in Kolkata and completed her schooling from here. It was after that her family moved to the city of Mumbai. It was in Mumbai that Reema started her career as a model. She took up modeling and eventually got breaks in some of the advertisements of different brands in television.
Reema then decided to shift to low budget Telegu movies as she wanted to work in films. She did here first movie Chitram acting opposite to Uday Kiran. The Tamil movie that was a great hit and brought her success was Minnale. Her works in Hindi film industry didn’t start off well. Her first movie in Bollywood, Hum Ho Gaye Aapke failed to hit the box office. Then she made up her mind to work in Tamil movies which were the lucky Genre for her. Her next appearance in the movie ‘Rendu’ was a big success. After that the roles in the two movies ‘Thimiru’ and ‘Vallavan’ were very popular and the viewers liked her very much for different aspects of her personality ranging from her facial expression to her body language to her acting skills.
The character she played in the movie ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ was famous with the critics and highly praised. She has won the Best Female Debut Filmfare for her Tamil film Minnale and Best Actress Filmfare nomination for Aayirathil Oruvan.
