The favorite ‘bahu’ of television and a popular Bhojpuri actress, Shweta Tiwari has carved a niche for herself ever since she joined the industry in 1999. She was born on 4th October 1980 in UP’s Pratapgarh. Shweta has been in news for every reason, be it for her acting talent, or dancing skills, or personal life.
Although she started her career with ‘Kaleerein’, it was the role of Prerna in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasautii Zindagii Kay, which made her a household name overnight. The programme was broadcast for eight years. Shweta also did many other television shows like Aane Wala Pal, Karam, Kahin Kissi Roz, Rishtey, Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat, Jaane Kya Baat Hui, etc.
Shweta has also appeared in reality shows like Aajaa Mahi Vay, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Nach Baliye 2, Yeh Hai Jalwa (Season 1 and 2), Bigg Boss Season 4, etc. She won the prize money of Rs. 1 crore at Bigg Boss 4, defeating Dolly Bindra, Ashmit Patel and The Great Khali in the final episode.
Shweta Tiwari was also seen in several seasons of Comedy Circus, and she won Comedy Circus ka Naya Daur along with partner Kapil Sharma.
Shweta has also been involved in Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema, playing roles in Madhoshi, Abrakadabra, Benny and Babloo and Hamar Sayian Hindustani. She was recently seen performing an item number in the Hindi film ‘Bin Bulaye Baraati’. She is currently seen in Parvarrish- Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi.
The famous bahu has also been the face of many brands and has been seen in many commercials like Pears, Revlon, Dabur Hair Oil, Tanishq, CellOne, etc. She has made a few random appearances in other television programmes.

Shweta has been awarded with many accolades like ITA Best Actress award, Star Parivaar Favorite Bahu and Favorite Maa awards. Shweta was married to actor Raja Chaudhary for nine years, but they split because of alleged cases of domestic violence. She has a daughter named Palak.
