A former model and an actress currently, Tanushree Dutta is a dusky Bengali beauty who shot to fame when she won the title of Femina Miss India Universe in the year 2004.
Born on 19th March 1984 in Jamshedpur, Tanushree is a Bengali Hindu Kayastha. Having completed her schooling from Jamshedpur, she did her graduation from Pune University. She tried modeling, and won the Femina Miss India competition in 2004.
The same year, Tanushree went on to win the Femina Miss India Universe title, and also represented India at the Miss Universe 2004 competition which was held in Quito, Ecuador. She did not win the pageant but was placed among the top 10 contestants.
Tanushree Dutta received a major honor when the Government of Jharkhand released postcards and stamps featuring her photograph, in the year 2005.
Tanushree moved from modeling to Bollywood and started her career with her film ‘Aashiq Banaya Apne’. The film was not very successful, but she was noticed by many for her bold appearances and scenes with lead actor Emraan Hashmi.
Tanushree then appeared in many films like Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets, 36 China Town, Bhagam Bhaag (cameo performance), Risk, Raqeeb, Good Boy Bad Boy, Dhol, Speed, Saas Bahu Aur Sensex, Ramaa: The Saviour, Apartment and Rokkk. She has also done a Telugu film called Veerabhadra, and a Tamil film called Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai.
