Despite not tasting much success in Bollywood, Tara Sharma is a well-known face in the Bollywood industry. She was born on 11th January 1977 to an Indian father and a British mother. Her father Pratap Sharma is an eminent author and actor.
Tara made her Bollywood debut with Anupam Kher’s film ‘Om Jai Jagdish’ in 2002. Although the film boasted of a huge star cast and popular names like Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and others, it failed at the box office. She was also seen in the British police series ‘The Bill’.
Her first successful movie was multi-starrer film ‘Masti’ in 2004. She did a number of roles in films like ‘Saaya’, ‘Bardaasht’, and ‘Mr. Prime Minister’, but they did not do well. Then she appeared in the critically acclaimed film ‘Page 3’ starring Konkona Sen Sharma.
Tara Sharma was also seen in ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ along with Anupam Kher, Boman Irani and Navin Nishcol. She played a theatre actress in love with Parvin Dabas’ Cherry. She also acted in ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, which had Sushmita Sen and Shah Rukh Khan. Besides this, she has appeared in several other films which were not noted though.
The actress was seen playing an important character in ‘Raven’, a Scottish BBC game show for children. She also appeared in ‘The Tara Sharma Show’ on Imagine TV, where she showed how she is enjoying the journey of her motherhood.
Tara Sharma married Roopak Saluja, an ad film producer. She has two sons, Zen and Kai.
